Hankila expansions, Haapavesi-Kärsämäki

Puhuri is preparing to expand the Hankila wind park in Haapavesi in two separate projects. The environmental impacts of the Hankila expansion projects will be examined in a joint EIA process with the Keso expansion project.

Hankila-Hautaneva

The Hankila-Hautaneva project area is mainly located in the wind power area 375 of the regional plan. In connection with the upcoming EIA process, it will be established whether the component master plan of the current Hankila wind park would have potential for further development.

According to the expansion plan, 15 more wind turbines will be built in the area. The zoning plan has been approved by the Haapavesi town council in November 2022.

Hankila expansion, Kärsämäki

A second project area of the Hankila expansion is located east of the already built wind park, in the Kärsämäki municipality. According to the expansion plan, 6–8 additional wind turbines will be built in the area. The Kärsämäki town council approved the zoning initiative in August 2022.
